More doodles of that Tarzan wild-child AU thing. God, whatevers next, copying screencaps? (hint: yes) This is a thing that is happening.God I love historical costume though, Rose in a bustle dress! She’s trying to brush out Jade’s hair by the way, make her (and Jake) fit to bring back to England/America/wherever.

dude nah let’s try not to romanticize colonialism

Well that’s not really applicable is it lol, seeing as Tarzan was raised by gorillas and was not native to the country Jane found him in. Jane and her father weren’t there to colonise either, just to study said gorillas. Can’t speak for the original story but that’s not what this is based off anyway. It’s based off a kid’s film.

Not sure why I’m bothering to explain this as you’re quick to go “oh but reasons/IT’S A KID’S FILM/oh you silly social justice person” but: regardless if Tarzan was raised by gorillas and that it’s based on ~a children’s movie~, this imagery (and the AU itself) is still rooted in colonialism. It’s still perpetuating the same problematic story of “civilized” white people descending upon the “uncivilized” to give them ~culture~ because, of course, the only good culture is that of “civilized” America/England.
but i mean whatever it’s a kid’s film and there can’t possibly be any problematic messages in kids film’s rite

Jade’s meant to be white here. White with a tan.

Can someone draw an AU without getting attacked anymore

obviously not
